DiaPS Resources Featured in the New IDF KiDS Platform
The launch of the new KiDS (Kids and Diabetes in Schools) website by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) has brought exciting news for the DiaPS community. As part of the newly published educational resources, materials developed through the DiaPS – Diabetes and Sport Peer Support project have been recognised and included within the global KiDS initiative.
The new KiDS platform and its updated resources were officially launched during the IDF World Diabetes Congress 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand, following months of international collaboration and development.
From a European project to a global resource
One of the key highlights for the DiaPS partnership is the inclusion of project materials within the new KiDS educational resources. This recognition demonstrates the value of the work carried out throughout the project and confirms the relevance of promoting physical activity, sport participation, and peer support for children and young people living with diabetes.
Originally developed within a European context, the DiaPS resources are now reaching a much wider audience through the IDF network, supporting schools, educators, healthcare professionals, children, and families across the world.
Recognising the importance of sport in diabetes management
The inclusion of DiaPS materials reflects a growing recognition of the role that physical activity and sport play in supporting people living with diabetes. Through educational content, practical guidance, and real-life experiences, the project has worked to increase confidence and participation in sport among children, young people, and adults living with diabetes.
By becoming part of the KiDS resource collection, these messages can now contribute to diabetes education initiatives on a global scale.
A shared mission
Both the KiDS programme and the DiaPS project share a common goal: empowering people living with diabetes through knowledge, support, and inclusion.
While KiDS focuses on creating supportive school environments, DiaPS extends this mission into the field of sport and physical activity. Together, these initiatives help ensure that children and young people living with diabetes have access to the tools, information, and encouragement they need to thrive.
International recognition for the DiaPS community
The inclusion of DiaPS materials within the new IDF KiDS resources represents an important achievement for the project and its partners. It highlights how ideas, tools, and resources developed through European cooperation can contribute to improving the lives of people living with diabetes far beyond the project’s original scope.
As the DiaPS community continues to grow, we are proud to see its impact reaching new audiences and supporting diabetes education efforts around the world.
