Making sport and diabetes easier to understand
Many young people living with diabetes are still unsure how to safely take part in sport. At the same time, coaches, teachers and even parents often lack the knowledge and confidence to properly support them. As a result, participation in physical activity can become more difficult – or even avoided altogether.
To change this, during Sports&Diabetes project we created a set of simple, practical and easy-to-understand learning materials that make sport and diabetes more accessible for everyone. From basic guidance to real-life situations, these resources help break common misconceptions and show that sport is not only possible, but beneficial for people living with diabetes.
Building on this, the DiaPS project goes a step further – offering a digital platform where users can explore content in more depth, find answers to specific questions and learn from real experiences shared within the community.
With the right knowledge and a few key steps, such as monitoring glucose levels, preparing for activity and understanding how your body reacts, people living with diabetes can feel more confident, make informed decisions and fully enjoy sport.
