Erasmus+ Sport collaborative project that is co-funded by Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.

DiaPS at the 1st Erasmus+ sport Catalunya meeting: A step forward in connecting diabetes and sports

On November 28th, 2024, the 1st Erasmus+ Sport Catalunya Meeting was held to celebrate 10 years of promoting sports and knowledge from Catalonia across Europe. Organized by SantCugatCreix, this landmark event brought together over 80 attendees from 40 different organizations, including key stakeholders like the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Diputació de Barcelona, the European Multisport Club Association (EMCA), and many others.

The Erasmus+ Sport program has played a significant role in shaping sports initiatives within Europe, and this event marked an opportunity to reflect on its accomplishments and discuss its impact in Catalonia. The meeting provided a unique platform for networking and exchanging experiences with experts from a wide range of organizations.

As part of the event, several organizations presented their European projects, sharing insights and experiences in a series of short presentations. As a partner in the DiaPS project, AreaQ was proud to present the DiaPS initiative, highlighting the progress made so far and the importance of the app in bridging the gap between sports and diabetes management.

The DiaPS project was introduced as a vital tool for athletes, coaches, and parents living with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). The app resulting from DiaPS will offer tailored digital solutions for managing diabetes during sports activities, helping users stay informed and connected to a community of others facing similar challenges. The project’s participation in this event is a key milestone, reinforcing its relevance in the global conversation about diabetes and sports.

As we move forward with the DiaPS project, this collaboration with Erasmus+ Sport partners is an essential step toward expanding our impact and contributing to the broader dialogue on diabetes and sports in Europe. We are excited about the possibilities ahead and remain committed to delivering a digital solution that empowers athletes and their families.

Stay tuned for more updates on the DiaPS project as we continue our journey to support T1D athletes and make a lasting impact on the sports community.
