DiaPS – Diabetes and Sport Peer Support is designed as a safe and inclusive space for people living with diabetes.
To protect younger users, we apply specific rules regarding age and parental consent.

Children under the age of 18 may create a DiaPS account only with verified parental consent and require parental approval before access is granted.

For the safety of all young users:

  • Under-18 accounts have limited communication features.
  • Direct messaging between users is disabled for minors.
  • Young users can still view educational content, post questions, and participate in public discussions, but they cannot exchange private messages with other members.

These measures are designed to protect privacy, promote open learning, and ensure a positive and secure experience for all members of the DiaPS community.

If you are a parent or guardian and have questions about your child’s account or wish to manage consent, please contact us at info@sportsanddiabetes.eu.

The information provided through the DiaPS app, website, handbook, and community spaces is intended for educational and peer-support purposes only. DiaPS does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Our expert-reviewed materials combine professional knowledge and lived experience to highlight important aspects of managing type 1 diabetes before, during, and after sport. However, every person with type 1 diabetes is different, and responses to exercise, insulin, food, stress, and daily routines can vary widely.

Any guidance, examples, or strategies described in DiaPS—including those shared by users—are general suggestions only. They may not be suitable for every situation.
Always consult your doctor or diabetes care team before making changes to your diabetes management and follow the official guidelines of your national diabetes association.

The DiaPS community area allows users to share their personal stories, experiences, and tips. Such posts reflect individual opinions only and are not reviewed, verified, or endorsed by DiaPS unless marked as Expert-Reviewed or Verified Content.
We cannot guarantee the accuracy, safety, or reliability of user-generated content, and DiaPS is not responsible for actions taken based on such content.

Please remember:

  • Each hypo- and hyperglycaemic situation is individual and should be managed according to your healthcare provider’s instructions.
  • The influence of different types of physical activity on blood glucose is highly individual. Every “Super D” must find the approach that works best for them.
  • Use caution and always seek professional advice for medical decisions.

By using DiaPS, you acknowledge that the platform is intended for supportive peer learning and that all medical decisions must be made together with qualified healthcare professionals.
