ÀreaQ is a company that brings together three partners and eight independent freelance experts in the field of service design, program evaluation, and qualitative research. Our company offers methodological support and consultancy services to Public Administrations and organizations promoting social change. Key Activities ÀreaQ provides a full suite of innovative and flexible methodologies and has particular expertise in applying these methods creatively to match the specific needs of our clients. Our key activities include: Qualitative Research: We have a strong background and expertise in qualitative research methodologies. We apply these methodologies to study public problems, evaluate projects, and design new services. Our approach is based on the understanding that the interaction of researchers and the researched is crucial to studying the needs and problems of populations and communities. We use a range of qualitative research methods to gather rich and detailed data that provides insights into the perspectives, beliefs, and behaviors of our research participants. When designing new services, this involves working collaboratively with stakeholders, including service users, to co-create solutions that meet their needs and expectations. Our qualitative research expertise enables us to understand the needs and preferences of service users and to design services that are user-centered, efficient, and effective. Our team is skilled at analyzing this data using a variety of qualitative analysis techniques, such as thematic analysis, grounded theory, and discourse analysis, to generate meaningful and actionable findings. Program and Project Evaluations: ÀreaQ conducts program and project evaluations to help public and private organizations to assess the effectiveness and impact of their initiatives. Our team uses a range of qualitative and quantitative methods to ensure that our partners receive rigorous and meaningful evaluations that inform their decision-making processes. Service Design: ÀreaQ has been recently involved in many service design projects for the public sector. Service design is rooted in design thinking and often involves collaborative methods that engage both service users and service delivery teams to gain an end-to-end understanding of the service as well as how to make holistic and effective improvements. Our qualitative research background and expertise make us strong in the service design field. Academic Affiliations ÀreaQ's academic affiliation is mediated through the links maintained by its members, on an individual basis, with the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Our company's experience is based on the work we did between 2006 and 2011 at the Qualitative Research Chair (UAB-IES-FDR). The Chair, attached to the Department of Social Psychology of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, contributed to promoting and consolidating the assessment and qualitative research in the social and health fields, with the support of the Institute of Health Studies (Department of Health of the Generalitat of Catalonia). Size of the Organization ÀreaQ is a small company with three partners and eight independent freelance experts. We work in a unique way, creating the conditions for a project to be real and then setting up the best possible team to carry it out. This includes our partners and highly qualified freelancers who we bring in on a project-by project basis. This approach allows us to offer tailored solutions for each project and to provide our clients with a team that has the specific expertise and experience needed for their project. Despite our small size, we have extensive experience and expertise in our key areas of activity, and we are able to deliver high-quality results for our clients.
