The multi-sport and informative workshops of Olympiakos started with enthusiasm. The participants discussed with the coaches and will be asked to answer the questionnaire regarding the difficulties faced by people with diabetes during sports activity.
Olympiacos, in collaboration with local organizations of people with diabetes, is invited to collect the experiences and opinions of these people in order to investigate both their level of sports activity and the obstacles to it.
After the collection of the questionnaires, the program is expected to move to the main stage of its implementation, which concerns the writing of a special manual for sports and diabetes as well as the organization of sports activities for people with diabetes.
Olympiacos, active in issues related to the integration of vulnerable social groups in sports, embraced this initiative from the first moment and is planning sports actions in the following months of the program.

Summer camp for Sport & Diabetes

The Sport Departments of Olympiacos continue their activities during the summer season and invite kids and parents to Summer Camp 2022 which will be held at the facilities of the Sailing Department of Olympiacos in Mikrolimanos. There will be a total of 5 different workshops and sport events, one for each week from June 20 to July 29, with the opening hours being Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00.

The second period of the worhshop is over!

With many moments of game, relaxation, and learning, the second workshop of the summer camp of the Olympiacos’ departments was completed. With the participation being even bigger, the second workshop of the “Sport&Diabetes” camp is coming to an end. The sea of ​​Mikrolimano will be filled with the colors of the “red and white” boats tomorrow, Friday (1/7), with young and old participants enjoying every moment of this special summer event.                                                         

The administrator of the academies of Olympiacos, and moderator, Manolis Tsirogiannis, said the following: “The second workshop is going much better than the first.   We have 25 children who learn about their favourite sports (Sailing, Canoeing, Kayaking, Rowing & SUP) and the secrets of the Sports & Diabetes. Additionally, they participate in other sports of the other academies such as tennis, handball, martial arts and fencing. The children and parents are excited and those who were there the first workshop are booking their place for the following workshops as well. A big thank you to the entire coaching team for their effort.”

Sport events never stop in Piraeus!

Many sports activities are carried out, giving the opportunity to young and their coaches, parents and teachers to take participate in workshops and multisport events and learn about the value of sports in health and in their social integration.                                                                  

The participants had the opportunity to discuss the difficulties faced by people with diabetes when exercising sports activity, to collect experiences and opinions of these people in order to investigate both their level of sports activity and the obstacles to it.                                                                             

An important role is played by the drafting of a special manual on sports and diabetes, which is in the control stage and is expected to be completed in the autumn. Olympiacos, active in issues related to the integration of vulnerable social groups in sports, embraced this initiative from the first moment and will continue the sports actions in the following months of the program, where it will organize in Piraeus a SportCamp for people with diabetes with the participation coaches and people with diabetes from the countries of origin of the other participating clubs.
