The project coordinator: Sport club from Germany
Currently, the TSV Bayer 04 has about 9,500 members. 13 sports divisions and areas cover all age groups with comprehensive services in the area of mass, disabled and competitive sports. With its long tradition in mass sport as well as ten gold medals, eleven silver and 13 bronze medals at the Olympic Games and 82 medals at Paralympic Games, the club is among the most successful in Germany. The TSV Bayer 04 stands for an exemplary promotion of junior athletes. In addition to the sporting education, the focus is on school and career support for young athletes.
The common credo for all areas is: Bayer is a large solidarity community in sport and they support people in lifelong sports. The club has existed for 113 years and although it is almost exclusively seen by the sport successes of its athletes, among our current membership of 9834 almost 7000 members are part of mass sport. The association currently employs 264 people
In the competitive sport area, they participate in a first national league in the following sports : Basketball, handball, football, judo, volleyball. They work in the individual sports fields of athletics, fencing, judo and handicapped sports with the goal of reaching national top positions, to participate internationally in the European Championship, World Championship, Olympic and Paralympic Games and to be successful there.
